100 Good Things About Biddeford

  1. Tremendous work is being done to renovate St. Andre’s, a historic church building in downtown to accommodate a new teen center.
  2. Seeds of Hope Neighborhood Center, helping our unhoused neighbors
  3. Heart of Biddeford hosts so many great events
  4. Ore Nells BBQ is a great new addition to downtown restaurants!
  5. Portland Pie is delicious and is well worth the price. I love the vibrant support for both casual and competitive adult volleyball at the community center. Great summer swimming at rotary park and Biddeford pool.
  6. Union Church holds an annual Blessing of the Animals, every October, on the church lawn. Community members and their pets are welcome!

  26. My family and I made our first investment in Biddeford 22 years ago. Biddeford and it’s people have helped us become successful beyond our wildest dreams. We believe in the city and it’s future. We believe it has so much more potential and will continue to develop properties here.

    We have some GREAT food here. Great shops. Diversity. I honestly love the folks that live here too. I love my neighbors. I've also witnessed folks in this community help others in need without hesitation ”

  43. Southern Maine Medical Center has provided some of the very best care we have ever received! I can attest to everything from allergic reactions, beautiful childbirth, broken bones, very scary life saving surgery and more. The ER staff is incredible. Knowing it’s so close, within reach of many of us is a Blessing.
  44. I love that Dairy Queen in Biddeford has an inside sitting area, plus they are open all year long!
  45. I moved here in February and love this town! It reminds me of how Berkeley was in the late 80’s!

  46. I just moved here 2 weeks ago, (to be closer to family; whom are currently in Portland, but soon they will be in Yarmouth).
    I’m a bit overwhelmed with everything, but I’m sure it will take time. All of the groups I joined are helpful.
    Maine is definitely a beautiful state!

  48. The street people are productive, no one ever gets their vehicles towed or get ticketed, the bathrooms in all the restaurants are spit polish clean.
  49. Wendy at the Biddeford Panera is a ray of sunshine and definitely has her sh*t together even though it’s early morning which inspires me to take on my challenges of the day too!! I don’t even go there a lot but I met her the other day and her kindness and work ethic was praiseworthy.
  50. I love going to Mulligans. It’s a fun spot. Great food, great service and has an open bar. They have pool tables and darts. I also love Champions. They have pool tables as well. They will have karaoke and live bands.
  51. This whole area fascinates me. Elements Café, Reilly’s bakery, New Morning Natural Foods, places to eat, pubs, Lincoln Hotel and down to the waterfall. love, Biddeford

  55. Reillys has pumpkin donuts, Rover Bagel has been named 1 of 2 must have bagels in Maine, and Colletti pizza is top 100 in the nation and a must try! That's just the tip of the iceberg!!!
  56. Weekly newsletters /updates from the city and from Heart of Biddeford - all the festivals/music /our and our beautiful flowers downtown. Our McArthur library has wonderful programs and the Biddeford Historical Society - their discussions are always informative. And, our Parks and Recreation offerings. Love the walks and all the outdoor activities. I haven’t participated in the over 50 group - their offerings sound fun! Love taking walks at Clifford Park and Biddeford Pool.
  57. Layalina has a cheap (around $8.50) cheeseburger basket that people don't mention a lot because it's not really a burger place. It's a good deal and tasty and better than most other options in the area. I still point to Palace Diner as the best burger in town though

  59. The dramatic changes that have happened since I’ve moved to City of Biddeford. It’s been so uplifting to see all the positives that continue to happen. We’re still working on things, overall it’s been wonderful.
  60. Saturday morning, on the Eastern trail, you can go out for a 5k, then get detailed results of your run. This weekly event is free, and a good way to start the weekend. PARKRUN.US

  68. “As with ANY city there is good, but there is also bad. The one thing I can say is that I've lived in Biddeford since 1988. When I moved there the troubled spots were just that. I have noticed over the years that quite a few of them have cleaned up. This is great news for families!”
    “My favorite place is Reilly's bakery, they still manage to put out the best in pastries!
    Downtown is also beautiful (historical mills), just wish more businesses would move in and stay.”
